Witty verses in the Bible

brawling womanWhen you think of the Holy Bible, one usually doesn't think of wit, but there are some witty verses in the Bible. One of the wittiest verses in the Bible to me can be found in Proverbs 21:9Pro 21:9 It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.  KJV, and again in Proverbs 25:24Pro 25:24 It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman and in a wide house.  KJV. Every verse in the Bible has a deep spiritual meaning, but in different situations and circumstances in our lives; there are some verses that just speak to the heart in a different kind of way. These verses bring a smile to the face when we think about our wives and the times when we are in disagreement. Soloman, the proverbs writer; made an observation about his relationship - it's better to move to the rooftop of the house than to stay in the house with a brawling woman.

While it would be hard to say exactly what he meant by a "brawling woman"; we can only believe he meant a woman in an agitated state, argumentive and short tempered - nearing the place of hitting the man with the frying pan. There would be none better to talk about wives in the Bible; because Soloman had more than anyone else in the Bible - 700 or so. With so many women in his life, we can only wonder how he found time to write Proverbs and Ecclesiastes.
