The temptation problem we all live with

temptation problemIn life, it seems that the thing we want the most is exactly what we can't have; or shouldn't have. An example of this could be a person who has diabetes, they have to limit their sugar and sweets; which in turn makes those things what they want more than the normal. If you can't have it or shouldn't have it - that in itself makes you want it more. It is the flesh and the desires of the flesh that make us like this... it is the human condition. Prone to want and desire those things that are off limits or forbidden. This is where the word temptation comes into play at in all our lives. Temptation is the captivating, flashy sign at the doorway of sin and the devil uses it for all it's worth against us. James said it best of temptation in James 1:14-15James 14 - But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.  KJV
, it is when we are drawn away from the right way by our own lusts and enter the wrong way; and that is the way that leads to death or destruction.

It is impossible to live life and not be tempted, so what is a person to do ? If we can't live without temptation, we have to learn to deal with temptation and the Bible gives us many ways to handle all the temptation that will come our way. In Proverbs 4:14-15 Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.
15 Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.  KJV
, the Bible instructs us to enter not the path of the wicked and go not the way of evil men. If at all possible, avoid it and turn away from it !  And if you think you are too strong to fall into temptation, take some wise advice from the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.  KJV to be careful with temptation, it can bring about destruction. We can submit ourselves to God, and resist the devil to help to curb the attraction of temptation according to James 4:7James 4:7 - Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.  KJV, but if anyone does fall to a temptation that is laid before them, God gives us a promise that he will not allow us to be tempted above what we can handle, and he will make a way of escape for us - 1 Corinthians 10:131 Cor 10:13 - There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.  KJV. It is impossible to live this life without being tempted with all there is in the world to tempt us with - so the best solution is to learn to handle the temptation problem the way God has given us in his Word.
