Gods will for your life

In the time I have been a minister (around 14 years), I have been asked many times; what is God's will for me ? While it is hard to answer specifically for each individual (we are all gifted and talented in contemplating the will of goddifferent ways), we can go to the Bible and easily see God's will for us, generally speaking. And of course, if we don't get this one down first (God's general will), we probably won't have to worry too much about using the God given talents that would be used in his specific will for the individual person.

So what is God's generalized will, or his will for all creation, young, old, middle aged, women, children and men. The first place we will look is in 1 Timothy 2:4Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.  KJV. This verse shows God's first priority with his creation - his will for each of us is that we (men=all people, men-women-children), would come to the knowldege of the truth about Jesus Christ and accept him as our savior. First, his will for all of us, is that we are saved from an eternity of desolation. The next place we will look is in Romans 12:1-2Rom 12:1 - I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.  KJV
. Once we are "saved", then it is God's desire or will that we that we give our lives to him to do with what he will - and to not be conformed to this world. Not conformed; or don't be like the world, act, and live like a child of God. Be ye holy for I am holy - 1 Peter 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.  KJV. Second, live a just, holy and righteous lifestyle. The next place we are going is in 1 Thessalonians 5:181Th 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.  KJV. Be thankful for whatever comes your way, no matter what it is ! Be it good or be it bad, God says to have a thankful heart. Third, have a thankful attitude and heart.

This may sum up the general will of God for all his creation. There are many other things mentioned about the Will of God, but all in all, they fall under one of those three above. So what about God's specific will for your life - if you will get those aforehand mentioned squared away, I believe you will then have much better vision as to what it is specifically God wants you to do - but you must start with those first.
