Assurance of salvation

The word assurance in the spiritual arena is somewhat like insurance in the natural arena. If anything happens to our stuff or our health, we want to know that we have insurance to cover the cost. If anything goes wrong in our lives, in any kind of way; we want assurance that God is there and will help in our times of need. The insurance is for "what if's" in life, and it will cost you a lot to carry; the assurance is for the "what is" in life and it costs us nothing but obedience and faithfulness to God.

In order to have the assurance in your salvation, and that God is going to be there for you - you must believe the Word of God, the Holy Bible. It is absolutely impossible to have the assurance of your salvation without believing 100% the Bible. God's word is what we base our salvation on - when you begin to believeto trust in, to put confidence in, to totally commit to totally in the Word of God, the battle of doubt is won about assurance. The Bible tells us in John 3:16John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.   KJV that whosoever believes in Jesus will have everlasting life. Now if you believe totally the Bible, it is really settled once you do what it says to do.

However there are still some who would doubt and question this one verse for the assurance of their salvation. Maybe Ephesians 1:12-13Eph 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,   KJV
; it states that after we believe in Jesus, truly believe, nothing about emotions or sensations - but pure faith; we are sealed with the Holy Spirit. Sealed as in God puts his seal in us and on us. In Romans 8:16Rom 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:   KJV the Bible tells us that the Holy Spirit itself will bear witness with our spirit that we are God's child - but again; I want to say; you must totally and completely believe the Bible to have this assurance. To believe completely and totally the Word of God is a great show of faith, and it is that faith which gives us our assuranceEphesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:   KJV. which gives us our assurance.
