Are you really thankful on Thanksgiving

The thought of Thanksgiving Day brings to mind family, friends, food and fun - and for some it brings to mind what it means to be blessed. It is the simple things in life that makes one feel blessed; like family, health, a roof over our heads, food to eat - you know..... the simple things. Far to often we forget the "simple things" when it comes to being thankful; can't be thankful for the simple things in life; for thinking about all the things we don't have. And there is the conflict when it comes to being thankful; one can't be truly thankful with the feeling..... I haven't got mine in life, or life has not been fair to me ! This may be a good year to start truly being thankful for the simple things in life like your health, or a home, or family and friends - many don't have these things.be thankful

The Bible tells us in 1Thessalonians 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.  KJV to be thankful in every thing that comes and goes in our life. There are some things that are hard to be thankful for, but God tells us in this verse of scripture that we should find a way to do just that. Some things that come our way in our lives leave us with a bad taste in our mouths or a bitter attitude; those are the ones that seem hardest to get through, much less being thankful for them. But there must be a reason for these kind of things happening (or else they wouldn't happen). According to Romans 8:28Rom 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.   KJV, everything works together for good in the lives of God's children; even what we call bad has it's place and purpose. Armed with this knowledge can make us rethink how we handle negative things in life.

So this year at Thanksgiving, don't forget to be thankful for "all things" that came your way this year including something you would call negative.... it just may be what helped you get to a better place in life !
Oh yeah, being thankful should be a daily routine instead of just at Thanksgiving.
