Anticipating heavenly bliss

The first time I visited the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee; the thought occured to me, this must be just a little taste of what heaven will be like. When the first of our three grandchildren came along, I thought; this must be just a little taste of what heaven will be like. Many times, whatever gives us a euphoricexaggerated feeling of well-being or elation feeling makes us think of a place called heaven. "A little taste" would be the right description when comparing God's heaven to anything we experience in this world. The Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 2:91 Cor 2:9 - But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.  KJV that we can't even anticipate about what the grandeur of heaven will really be like.the gates of heaven

The Bible doesn't specifically give us the location of heaven, but it does give us a general idea in Isaiah 14:12-13Isa 14:12 - 12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:   KJV
; these verses tell us that it is in the
sides of the north. One can only think, heaven is up and northward after reading verse 13. These 2 verses are about Lucifer losing his home in heaven because of rebellion and give us the general location of heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:21Ecc 3:21 - Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?   KJV gives us the same general direction for the location of heaven. At any rate, heaven is a place of eternal bliss, fulfillment and happiness.

God gives us a brief description of what it will be like in heaven for those who have served him in this world. In Revelation 21:1-4Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.   KJV
, the Bible says that all things will be new, and you all know how we like new things. In heaven, God will wipe away all tears, there may be some grief and pain at the beginning, but God will completely do away with pain and agony of spirit. There will be no more death; diesase, sickness, malady, growing old, wearing out physically will be a thing of the past - young and fresh all the time. This lifetime is full of pain both physically and emotionally, but in heaven there will be no more pain because there will be nothing there to cause the pain. There will be no sorrow there, or no things to be sorry for, ashamed for; or be down on yourself about. We can't quite understand a place like this in our natural state, but we don't have to understand it to be able to experience it. All we have to do to experience it at the close of this life; is to trust and obey the God who speaks through the Holy Bible. He said in John 3:16John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  KJV if we would believe on his son, Jesus Christ; we will not perish, but have everlasting life.
God said it, that settles it for me !
