The Alpha and the Omega

Revelation 1:8I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. gives us two words that we don't use everyday - alpha and omega. The verse is spoken by Jesus and he suggests to us that he is the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end. Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet, omega is the twenty-fourth letter (the last letter) of the Greek alphabet, so Jesus alpha and omegawas pointing to the fact that he was the A to Z and everything inbetween. When you think about what he accomplished in his life; and all that he did, it's not hard to use every letter of the alphabet to describe such a one as Jesus Christ.

He is the architect of atonement,
the backbone of the believer,
he is the cornerstone of creation, and the champion of Calvary,
the defender of the down trodden,
he is the earnest of our expectations,
the flagship of forgiveness,
the giver of God’s grace,
the healer of the heartbroken and the hero of the hopeless,
the ideal individual,
he is the justifier from Jerusalem,
the keeper of the keys,
the leader of a little movement called love,
he is the mover of mountains and the maker of men,
he is the narrative of the nativity, the ointment of the oppressed,
he is the prince of peace,
the quarterback of the quickened spirits,
he is the redeemer of the righteous,
he is the suffering savior that was slain on the cross for you and me,
he is the technician of truth,
he is the uplifter of unfortunate,
he is the viceroy of victory for those who put their trust and confidence in him,
he is the wonder of the wedding ceremony that will take place one day when the bride meets the groom,
he is the X-factor in the word XMAS,
he is yoke of Yahweh that santifed people wear,
and finally he is the zeal and the zest of a life that is set apart.

So you see my friends, in this one magnificent life Jesus Christ, you can easily see why he is the alpha and the omega, the beginnning and the end.
